Six new SCORPION models

More output with CLAAS telehandlers

The new SCORPIONHarsewinkel/Metz, 1st/2nd July 2013. Following the introduction of the SCORPION telehandler in 2005, CLAAS now presents a completely new SCORPION series which, particularly in the upper performance sector, adds another prong to the fork in terms of output, comfort and efficiency. CLAAS presents six new models with lifting heights between 6.0 m and 8.8 m and lifting capacity between 3.0 and 5.5 t.

CLAAS on course at the home of golf

CLAAS on course at the home of golfThe St Andrews Links Trust has invested in four new CLAAS tractors for use across the seven links courses it runs at the world famous 'home of golf', St Andrews.

The four tractors, a 100hp ARION 410 with an FL100 loader, two 110hp ARION 420s and a 145hp ARION 530, which is also equipped with an FL120 loader, have been bought by the St Andrews Links Trust to provide extra productivity over the seven courses managed by the trust, which cover almost 400ha.

In addition to hosting some of the most famous competitions and golfers in the world, between them the seven St Andrews courses see around 250,000 rounds of golf being played each year, with the famous Old Course being the busiest with up to 45,000 rounds played in a peak year after a competition such as the Open.

New fertiliser placement option for Claydon HybridTo help growers potentially reduce fertiliser usage and cost, yet make better use of expensive fertiliser through targeted placement whilst drilling, Claydon has developed a new fertiliser application system for the Claydon Hybrid drill range, which will be launched at Cereals.

The new fertiliser option will be available both on new drills, but can also be retro-fitted to existing drills and has been developed to meet demand from users both in the UK but also throughout Europe, especially Germany.

New AXION 800 unveiled at SIMA

New AXION 800 unveiled at SIMACLAAS offered a sneak preview at the SIMA show of the new AXION 800 which is due to be launched later this year for sale in 2014.

The new AXION 800 range is based upon the higher powered AXION 900 range launched this year and incorporates many of the design and technology features found on that tractor.

Like the AXION 900, the new AXION 800 range features a long wheelbase, with 50/50 front/rear weight distribution and a 'wasp waist' front axle design for an increased steering angle and optimum manoeuvrability. The new AXION 800 also uses the new spacious 4-pillar cab design, which is fully suspended and is mounted further forward for greater visibility.

The Eagle has landed

The Eagle has landedBOMFORD has introduced a new top-of-the-range reach arm flail mower, the EAGLE, which is a completely new machine that has been designed specifically to meet the needs of high hour, professional users.

The new EAGLE flail mower features a telescopic outer arm, giving it a maximum reach of 8.85 metres and the whole arm is mounted on a kingpost so that it can be slewed through 180 degrees for bi-directional left or right-hand cutting.

New retrofit steering system

New retrofit steering systemCLAAS has introduced a new automatic steering system, GPS PILOT FLEX which can be quickly and easily transferred between different machines.

Until now, in addition to the GPS COPILOT which indicates a path to which the operator manually steers, the only automatic 'hands-free' steering system that CLAAS has offered is GPS PILOT.

Unlike GPS PILOT, which is a fully integrated system built into the machine, the new GPS PILOT FLEX is attached to the steering column and does not rely on any valves within the steering system, so making it easy to swap between different machines, such as tractors, combine harvesters or forage harvesters.

Following the launch of the QUADRANT 3300 ROTO FEED (RF) big square baler in 2011, CLAAS has further expanded and completed the range with the addition of a new QUADRANT 3300 ROTO CUT (RC) version.

In all, this now means that six QUADRANT 3300 variants are now be available, producing a bale measuring 120cm x 90cm

XCEL debut at Livestock Event

XCEL debut at Livestock EventHi-Spec Engineering Co Ltd will be using the Livestock Show in July to display the new unique XCEL 1250 rear discharge spreader for the first time in the UK. The company will also be using the show to promote the flexibility of the Vertical Auger Feeder when specified with the VHD Conveyor.

Based in Ireland, Hi-Spec Engineering specialise in the manufacture of machinery for the livestock market, in particular auger and paddle type diet feeders and an extensive range of vacuum tankers and manure spreaders.
